Eyes

Yesterday Miya came up behind me and was playing with my hair. I asked if we were playing 'salon' and she said, no..."I'm looking for your eyes."

A few months back she was doing something she shouldn't be and I caught her...she was sitting behind me at the time. She asked how I knew what she was doing and I told her mommies had eyes in the back of our head.

She's still looking for mommy's eyes in the back of my head!

The simple times of a young little Pine

Miya's 1st day of Kindergarten -

"So, did you meet any new friends?" - Mom

"Of course!" - Miya

"Great! How did you meet them...at recess or lunch?" - Mom

"At class...I tapped her on the arm and said, what is your name?...do you want to be my friend? She said yes." - Miya

Oh the simple times of a young little Pine.

Check here if you would like to be my friend.

Summer Part 1

I know...we are not the greatest at keeping up our blog, so here are some pics and brief updates to our lives the last few months):

Here is Miya at Costco buying all the diapers she raised money for. Read more at: http://www.hopeiowa.org/events/change4change.php

Here is Miya in front of the diaper tower at the Hearts for Hope Women's Tea. Way to go girl!

Isaiah on a chilly May day playing in his favorite outside toy...his coop car. Notice the cut on his head...the boy is constantly falling on his head. Probably because his head is over half his body weight. We are thinking of a permanent helmet:)

Memorial Day weekend we headed up to the twin cities for a mini-vaca. Here is Miya at her favorite store - American Girl getting 'Hailey's' hair done and ears pierced.

Miya is a graduate...her pre-school days are over:(

Yes Isaiah's shirt does say 'I'd rather be naked'. Very true for this little one.

Miya had her first ballet recital at the end of May. She has a lot of natural giftedness in dance!

First day at the pool for the summer. We are pool rats!

GO CUBBIES!

4th of July with sweatshirts?!

Miya had her face painted for the 4th.

Love those sweet faces

Happy Golden 1st Birthday Isaiah!

Isaiah turns 1 today the 1st of May. We thank God Isaiah's birth mother choose life and even more than that, gave us the opportunity to raise him. Here are some classic recent Isaiah photos. He is walking and makes us laugh every day. Just yesterday morning he snuck out of the front door in his PJ's (see photo above).

Thank you Lord for Isaiah!

Isaiah 43: 4-7

Isaiah 43:4-7 (New International Version)

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
       and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

 5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!'
and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.'
       Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth-

7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
       whom I formed and made."

Confessions of Facebook junkies!

Ok ok...enough already. We know we have totally been slacking on our blog updating. You see, right after Christmas is when I hopped on the facebook bandwagon along with millions of others and am addicted. So, if you aren't on facebook, get on and become our friend...you will probably get more updates about us that way:)

But for those who won't do it, here is an updated pic of the kiddos. Isaiah is 9 months and wild man. He is VERY mobile and into everything electronic...remotes, TV, phone, outlets, etc. Miya is 5 years and so very funny. She helps a lot with her little bro and gives us something to laugh about everyday. Our current favorite is 'Rocco Bama' our new president...everytime she sees him on tv or whatever, she says, there's 'Rocco Bama.'

"Yep, there's Rocco honey"
