Feb & March

Here are a few pictures about the last few months:

Miya was introduced to basketball through the 'Little Dunkers' Parks & Rec league (this was a nice 6 week intro to basketball). The kids are now obsessed with basketball and everyday both kids beg to play! Derek is updating our very old basketball hoop out in the driveway (pictures to come when it is finished).

A very memorable Valentine's Day as Derek took Miya to her first Father/Daughter Valentine's Dance. Miya was very excited to receive her first corsage from her daddy. A tradition has begun! 

When Miya's Kindergarten teacher asked the class to answer the question 'who do you love?' on Valentine's day, Miya answered:

"my brother". 

Here are pictures of the first time Miya got to meet and hold her brother for the first time. They have a very special relationship!

It seemed like Miya was going to a friend's birthday party every weekend for awhile. Here she is decked out for a pajama birthday party.

We found a small sledding hill near our house and finally after months of freezing cold attempted to take the kids sledding. Miya was an 'old pro', but Isaiah didn't know what to think. He liked going down the hill, but once we stopped at the bottom, he started screaming because we stopped. Maybe next year he will enjoy it more.

Happy birthday to me! I had one of the best birthdays ever this year! Started off with a fun out-to-dinner with friends, followed by a Wii dance party and large cookie.

Since Miya was on Spring Break, Derek and I decided to take off work on my actual birthday and made a day of it, including ice skating.

Top it off with mom and I celebrating together on Family Night (86 is the number of years mom and I are together this year).

I do have to brag a bit about my new hobby. A few years back mom INVESTED in a wonderful sewing machine for me and I am trying to be a good steward and learn how to use it. Mom has been helping me learn how to use it and last year (2009) I took a class and made my first quilt. 2010 I made an apron. I have some other projects not quite done, and will post pics as I get them done. 

We did want to throw this photo in to prove our kids are not perfect. We are in the 'sassy 6' and terrible 2's (Isaiah does everything early, including entering the terrible 2's).  Here is a picture of Miya having a meltdown about her fake 'dress-up' nails falling off.  We spared you a photo of Isaiah melting down.

Easter 2010.

National Marriage Week.

Tis the Season

Right after Thanksgiving, we went to Disney on Ice (this year was the year of the Princesses...right up Miya's alley). We went with Brian and Sara. It was awesome!

Tis the season for getting all dolled up for Christmas Parties! Both of our employers throw awesome Christmas parties!

1st annual Burrier ladies tea at the Perry Tea Room. Grandma Ingebretson, Mom, Kelli, Sara, Joni & Miya. What a great beginning of a fun tradition.

And last but certainly not least, here is Miya and her Uncle Jarred. He may live thousands of miles away, but it's like he has never left when he comes 'home'. She can't wait for the next homecoming!
